Cable Compatibility: ASUS & Corsair
Warning / Unknown
Caution. No confirmed compatibility standard exists. Mixing cables between ASUS and Corsair is not recommended.
⚠️ Many ASUS ROG/Strix power supplies use Seasonic as their OEM and share the Seasonic pinout, but some use Corsair custom pinouts. Double check the specific PSU generation before mixing.
Why Mixing modular cables is dangerous
Unlike the component-facing side of modular cables (which are standardized ATX connections), the connector slots on the physical power supply housing vary widely across brands and individual PSU generations. Manufacturers like Corsair and Seasonic route ground, 12V, 5V, and 3.3V power rails to different pins on the PSU ports. If you plug a cable wired for Seasonic into a Corsair power supply, it can send 12V down a ground wire, instantly destroying connected RAM, motherboard components, or GPUs.
